About · the human behind the lab
Hi, I’m the one with a scale on the counter.

My story
From instant coffee to a tiny home lab.
I grew up on instant coffee and thought espresso was something only cafes could make. A secondhand machine and a lot of sink shots later, I learned that good coffee at home is mostly fresh beans, a good grinder and a scale.
Today my small kitchen corner has a machine, two grinders and far too many drippers. I test gear the way I use it: every morning, with real beans and real mistakes.
espressolab shares what I have learned: nine guides with seven picks each. I check every product against a live Amazon US listing, pick one version of each item and say who it is not for, too.
How espressolab works
Three lab rules.
